Job Description:

Pepco is seeking a dependable Administrative Assistant at our Columbus, Ohio location to assist in a variety of clerical duties, including fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, planning meetings, processing expense reports, filing and data entry.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Carry out tasks as assigned by the Branch Operations Manager
  • Handle all receiving of packing lists from the Warehouse in Eclipse software
  • Process expense reports for the Columbus branch
  • Assisting in typing quotations for the Lighting Department
  • Keeps track of Job Bid Sheet
  • Process the daily shipping manifest
  • Expedite open purchase orders
  • Answer the phone using a professional and courteous manner
  • Direct phone inquiries to the appropriate staff members
  • Greet clients/suppliers/visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports, memos, and documents
  • Sort incoming mail, faxes, and courier deliveries for distribution
  • Purchase, receive and store the office supplies ensuring that basic supplies are always available
  • Organize luncheons when needed
  • Keep front lobby and kitchen areas clean and presentable
  • Performs other duties as required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and the Intranet
  • Time management and organizational skills to maximize efficiency
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form
  • Can be adaptable to any situation that may arise
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Possesses strong work ethic
  • Maintains positive attitude

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Previous Administrative Assistant position or office setting is preferred, but not required
