City of Westerville, Ohio, Municipal Electric Utility
A vital city of more than 37,000 residents with premier municipal services and community programs, Westerville, Ohio, was recently named by Money Magazine as a “Top 50 American Town.”
In no small way, Pepco has helped the city maintain its distinguished stature, one built on the many advantages it affords its citizens – such as the Westerville Electric Division providing electric services to all residents at prices lower than its neighboring suburbs.
Pepco recently helped upgrade Westerville’s municipal electric utility service with a new substation – from start to finish, top to bottom. Pepco performed the initial major equipment budgeting for the city’s specifying engineer, sold a complete substation to the city (including a 90 MVA, 138,000-KV power transformer) and provided supervised off-loading and field preparation.
The professional staff of Pepco also coordinated with the installing contractor for the design of the 15-KV switchgear, steel structures, grounding transformers, the capacitor bank, regulators and the battery system for the city’s new substation. Pepco further provided detailed scheduling, storage of materials and site inspection for the entire project.
