Each month, one Pepco employee is chosen to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the company. The overall objective is to offer Pepco employees a personal insight into each other’s lives- With five Pepco branches spread throughout Ohio, it’s a great way to learn about our co-workers on a more personal level. The Pepco employee who has the honor this month is Joe Mocnik.
I grew up in South Euclid to a family of 10 with my mom and dad, 2 brothers and 5 sisters (an old school Catholic family). I went to St. Margaret Mary School and St. Joseph High School. I moved out of my
parents’ home at 23 and stayed in South Euclid until moving to Bratenahl in 2005 with my beautiful girlfriend of 14 years, Judy.
Before joining the Pepco family, I worked for Leff Electric for 30 years ~starting in the warehouse, then the counter, inside sales, inside sales manager, outside sales for 23 years and branch manager for 18 months.
To relax, I love to sit on my balcony or by Lake Erie with Judy watching the gulls, flocks of ducks and boats go by. The sunsets in the summer are spectacular. I also enjoy going on long walks through the Metro- Parks & Bratenahl with Judy and our dog. On Fridays after work, I relax with my brothers and friends at local Pubs-rehashing the latest family and sports news.
What am I passionate about? #1 Family, both mine and Judy’s. There is nothing more important to me than them! Next, in no particular order would be; gym workouts 4 days a week, gardening, investing in the stock market, Ohio State football and the Browns.
Most people don’t know that I had a sister killed in a car accident 3 days before Christmas in 1977. She was 17 and I was 19 at the time. That event changed my life and the value of family to me forever!
